JK6 – Values in Action: An Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Primer for Counselors 2‑HOUR SESSION
This two-hour session will introduce acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) as an evidence-based approach rooted in values, flexibility, and meaningful action. Participants will examine ACT’s core assumptions and theoretical underpinnings, the six psychological flexibility processes, and how to help clients notice inflexible patterns, open up to difficult experiences, and move toward what matters most. Emphasis will be placed on practical tools counselors can use to help clients make space for pain and discomfort, clarify their values, and elevate their vitality.
